Unfiltered_Input_001 (Finally Pressing Publish)

It’s currently 10:00 PM on a Monday. I’m writing this in my notes app, listening to a track by an artist who has apparently been collectively “uncelebritised” by the internet recently. I couldn’t tell you the details; these days, my focus is locked on much bigger things than keeping up with the latest online courtroom. But the music fits the mood, the house is quiet, and it’s finally time to get this off my chest.

Welcome!!! I’m Niajé (you can call me Jé), and this is the very beginning of a journey I’m launching on a whim.

Why Start a Blog Now?

I’ve always been a reader and a writer, but if I’m being completely transparent, consistency has never been my strong suit. I’m excellent at starting; it’s the staying power that takes work.

I also realized that I don’t always want to write highly structured stories. Sometimes, I just want to write whatever comes to mind… just capturing thoughts, learning experiences, and every other random thing exactly as they happen, however messy they might be.

So, after a healthy amount of internal debate, I decided to just do it. No intense planning, no months of overthinking. Just a decision to create an online journal and share it. Whether you found your way here from a WhatsApp status or stumbled upon this corner of the internet by accident, I’m glad you’re here. The goal isn’t just to write into a void; it’s to build a space where people can connect with the raw, unfiltered process of growth.

Consider this a space with a paradox: there will be structure, but there will be absolutely none at all.

The Next Chapter: Cyber Security & Networking

Beyond just needing a creative outlet, this blog is starting alongside a massive personal milestone. After putting it off for quite some time, I’ve finally taken the leap and enrolled in university.

Just one week ago, I started my degree in Networking with Cyber Security.

I’ll save the full story of how I chose this path for a separate post, but this platform is going to double as my public study ledger. I want to use it to document my academic progress, share study notes, break down complex concepts as I learn them, and connect with tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Building in Public (Literally)

To prove how fresh this journey is: as I write this, the website isn’t even fully built yet. I’ve been deep in the backend research—learning about hosting, domains, and the various plugins I’ll need to set up an email subscription list. If that’s not active by the time you’re reading this, bear with me. We are building this infrastructure from scratch.

In the meantime, if you want to stay connected while I figure out the technical quirks of running a website, you can find me on TikTok at @njajay.w. Full disclosure: I don’t post, I don’t comment, and the algorithm definitely thinks I’m a bot. But it’s a bridge until the digital architecture here is fully complete.

Thank you for reading, for stepping into the chaos, and for being part of the beginning.

Stay tuned.
